Privacy policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information I collect when you use jonathanmcnamee.com, why I collect it and what your rights are.

Who I am

This website is run by Jonathan McNamee. I’m the controller of any personal information collected through it, which means I decide how it’s used and I’m responsible for looking after it.

If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email me at jonathanmcnamee@gmail.com.

What I collect

When you browse the site

I use Framer Analytics, which is built into the platform that hosts this site, to understand how people find and use it. It records page views, the page you came from, your rough location (country or city), and your device and browser type.

It doesn’t use cookies, and it doesn’t tell me who you are.

When you get in touch or book a call

If you email me, fill in a form on the site or book a call, I’ll collect what you give me. That’s usually your name, email address, company name, phone number if you add it, and anything you tell me about your business.

If you download the free worksheet, I’ll collect your name and email address so I can send it to you.

Why I use your information, and my legal basis

I use Framer Analytics to see which pages are useful and fix the ones that aren’t. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in running and improving the site.

I use your contact details to reply to your message or hold the call you booked. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or taking steps you’ve asked for before we agree to work together.

If we work together, I use your information to send you a quote and deliver the work. The legal basis is our contract.

I don’t sell your information, and I don’t use it for automated decisions about you.

If I’d like to send you anything beyond a reply to your enquiry, I’ll ask first, and you can say no or change your mind at any time.

Cookies

This site doesn’t use cookies for analytics, tracking or advertising.

Who I share your information with

I only share information with the services that help me run the site and my business:

  • Framer, which hosts the site and provides Framer Analytics

  • Google, which provides my email

  • Google Calendar, which handles call bookings

Each of them processes data on my behalf and under their own privacy and security terms. I’ll only share your information with anyone else if the law requires it.

International transfers

Some of these services store data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK’s standard contractual clauses.

How long I keep it

  • Framer Analytics data: kept in summary form, with no personal identifiers

  • Emails, enquiries and booking details: up to 2 years after we last spoke, unless we go on to work together

  • Client records: 6 years after the work ends, to meet tax and accounting rules

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the information I hold about you

  • Ask me to correct anything that’s wrong

  • Ask me to delete your information

  • Ask me to limit how I use it

  • Object to me using it based on legitimate interests

  • Ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere

  • Withdraw consent at any time, where I rely on it

To use any of these rights, email jonathanmcnamee@gmail.com. I’ll reply within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. I’d appreciate the chance to sort it out with you first.

Changes to this policy

If I change this policy, I’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
